Meet Chrissa: An American Girl

Bullying behavior is bad for everyone.  Chrissa Maxwell knows what it is like to experience bullying.  Watch Miss Eileen and Miss Judy's show again here.

To see a really neat video about an anti-bullying lesson from a teacher in New York, visit here.

You can pick up your craft materials at the library any time now.

We encourage you to make a kindness rock of your own!  Keep one and pass the other one along (put it in a place where it is needed, maybe on the way to your bus stop).  Learn more about the Kindness Rock Project here.

If you need a llama pattern, here is one!

Here you will find some little posters for your doll and also some helpful tips on dealing with bullying behavior.

American Girl: Meet Kanani with Miss Eileen and Miss Judy

You can watch the show again here.  Parts of it will also be featured on A Better Way on Sunday, August 1 at 7:00pm.  Read a recent article from the Washington Post about costumes vs. culture

Visit here for craft directions!

We learned a lot as we planned for this show.  Some of the things we did in the past when featuring Kanani were not really done in the right way.  But we know better now and so we are trying to do better!

Kanani Akina is very committed to saving the monk seal, which is in great danger in her state of Hawaii.  If you want to learn more about what is being done to help these seals, check out these sites:

If you missed it, you can watch it here!

But NO NOT MISS Baylor student, Jada Holliday singing "Life Every Voice and Sing."  This will seriously bless and touch your soul.  This song was written by James Weldon Johnson and J. Rosamond Johnson in 1900 and was first performed as part of a celebration of Abraham Lincoln's birthday in the early 1900s.  You can take a closer look at powerful lyrics here.
